The Dear Forest, 2025
Installation
Exhibition: Im Feld with Miriam Bajtala, kunstraum pro arte, Hallein
July 5—August 23, 2025
The installation echoes the video Digger and assembles its motifs—not directly, but in a poetic and associative manner—within the exhibition space: the forest as a place marked by the past, the act of revealing and concealing, and the anonymity of fallen soldiers, mirrored in the figure of a shooting target. The elements resist linear interpretation and, through their interplay, evoke an uncanny atmosphere of tension, absence, and fragile remembrance. The title of the installation is inspired by Karl Kraus’s poem of the same name from The Last Days of Mankind.
